Revolutionary War

1. William Fife (Brother of John, The Pioneer
Born about 1720 probably in Scotland. Died 1794 in Upper St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. No military record.

2. John Fife, The Pioneer
Born 1721 probably in Scotland. Married Margaret Wright. John died November 19, 1800 in Upper St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Served as a private in Robert Johnson's Company of Westmoreland County, PA. Rangers on the frontier from about 1780 to 1782. Served as a 2nd class private in his son William Fife's Company (4th Company, 2nd Battalion, Washington County Militia) after February 4, 1782.

3. William Fife (Son of John Fife, The Pioneer)
Born 1751 probably in Archill, County Tyrone, Ulster. Married on April 30, 1782 to Margaret Boyd. Died July 25, 1808 in Upper St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Enlisted March 1777 for eighteen months as private in Captain Wagoner's Company of the 12th Regiment of Virginia Continental Line. Went east and fought with Washington's Army at Brandywine (September 1777), Germantown and other battles. Wintered at Valley Forge 1777-1778. Served as private in Robert Johnson's Company of Westmoreland County, PA. Rangers on the frontier from about 1780 to 1782. Commissioned Captain of the Washington County Militia on February 4, 1782. Served as Captain in the Sandusky Expedition led by Colonel Crawford in June 1782.

4. William Fife (Son of William, 1720e-1794)
Born March 17, 1757 probably in Archill, County Tyrone, Ulster. Married Margaret Fife, daughter of John Fife, The Pioneer. Died in May 1838 in Upper St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Possibly the William Fife who served on Ship Chatham in Pennsylvania Navy, November 5, 1776 (See Pennsylvania Archives, Series 3, Volume XXIII, Page 18). Served as 7th class private in Captain William Fife's Company (4th Company, 2nd Battalion, Washington County Militia), after February 4, 1782.

5. John Fife (Son of John Fife, The Pioneer)
Born 1756. Married Isabel Thompson. Died July 30, 1814 in Upper St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Served as a private in Robert Johnson's Company of Westmoreland County, PA. Rangers on the frontier from about 1780 to 1782. Served as a 5th class private in his brother William Fife's Company (4th Company, 2nd Battalion, Washington County Militia) after February 4, 1782.

6. James Fife (Son of William, 1720e-1794)
Born June 24, 1764. Married Mary McGowan. Died March 4, 1841 in Upper St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Served as 2nd Class private in cousin William Fife's Company (4th Company, 2nd Battalion, Washington County Militia) after February 4, 1782.
